With Halloween fast approaching, now’s the time to start making plans. If you’ll be spending Halloween or any part of October on Cape Cod, you’ll find plenty of activities to check out throughout the month.
Some of these events require tickets, while others are free, so you can just show up. However, you’ll want to bring a costume to the Cape to avoid missing out.
Here’s a look at some Halloween 2024 events you can check out during your Cape Cod vacation.
Pumpkin People in the Park and Chatham Oktoberfest
Chatham always has some cool events in October, starting with Pumpkin People in the Park. This event runs every day between October 12 and 31 at Kate Gould Park and is a display of pumpkin-based scenes created by local businesses. It’s a fun spot to visit and is completely free throughout the month.
In addition, you can stop by Chatham Oktoberfest at the same location on October 19 between 11:00 AM and 4:30 PM. Oktoberfest is free to attend, and there will be music, vendors, a beer garden, and plenty of other activities to keep you busy.
Halloween Trick-or-Treat & Boo Bash
Another Chatham event you might want to consider is the Halloween Trick-or-Treat & Boo Bash at Chatham Bars Inn. This Halloween party is geared towards kids and includes games, treats, and activities. Your kids can also trick-or-treat around the property and stop by the on-site bonfire for some s’mores and music.
Tickets to the event are $40 per child, and parents must stay with their kids throughout the day. The party is on October 18 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM.
Halloween Stroll Falmouth
On October 26, you can visit the Halloween Stroll in Falmouth Village and get your trick-or-treating done early. This event transforms Main Street into a safe spot for kids, as local businesses will be giving out candy and fully decorated for the occasion.
It’s a fun event for the entire family and well worth checking out if your kids can’t wait for the big day.
Halloween Spooktacular Stroll in Brewster
Depending on the location of your vacation rental, you might choose to attend the Halloween Spooktacular Stroll in Brewster on October 26 instead. This event takes place at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History between 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM and will include treat-or-treating, a hay bale maze, and a pumpkin putt putt.
This all-ages event costs $8 per person, but you can wander through the museum exhibits while you’re there, too, so you can turn it into an educational experience.
Halloween Fun: Parade & Trick or Treating
Mashpee Commons always has something going on for Halloween, and 2024 won’t be any different, thanks to its annual Halloween Fun celebration. This event takes place on October 26 between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM and features music, dancing, treats, and costumes, keeping your family busy all afternoon.
The event finishes with a parade to Central Square and some trick-or-treating at the shops along the way, so your kids can get into the Halloween spirit a little early this year.
Midnight Society Halloween Party
For something a little more adult-orientated, stop by The Lanes Bowl & Bistro in Mashpee for a Halloween concert and party by local cover band Midnight Society. The band always puts on a good show, and this Halloween party on October 26 is an excellent way to spend an evening. It starts at 8:30 PM, and the party will continue well into the night.
Halloween Trick or Treat at Lemon Tree Village
On October 27, you can visit Lemon Tree Village Shops in Brewster for their annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat event. Between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, the businesses in this area will be open to trick-or-treaters, so bring your kids by with their scariest costumes to see what they can find.
Halloween in Provincetown
Halloween is a massive event in Provincetown, as there are parties absolutely everywhere. Most bars and restaurants will be participating in the festivities between October 31 and November 3 in 2024, so you’ll find plenty of do on this part of the Cape.
Notably, the Red Room on Commercial Street will be hosting a Halloween party on November 2, and you’ll want to buy tickets in advance to ensure you don’t miss out.
Get to the Cape This Halloween
Cape Cod knows how to do Halloween the right way, as there are events for kids and adults alike. Whether you’re coming with your family or want a fun weekend with some friends, you’re sure to find a great way to spend your time on the Cape.
